- 1 onion, chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 can (10.75 oz) cream of mushroom soup
- 1/2 cup sour cream
- 1 cup cheddar cheese, shredded
- 1 package (32 oz) frozen tater tots
- Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
- Preheat the Oven: Start by preheating your oven to 375°F (190°C).
- Cook the Beef: In a skillet over medium heat, cook the ground beef, onion, and garlic until the beef is thoroughly browned. Drain any excess grease.
- Mix Beef and Soups: Stir in the cream of mushroom soup and sour cream into the cooked beef. Season with salt and pepper to taste. Spread this mixture evenly in the bottom of a baking dish.
- Add Tater Tots and Cheese: Arrange the tater tots in a single layer over the beef mixture. Sprinkle the shredded cheddar cheese evenly on top.
- Bake the Casserole: Place the baking dish in the oven and bake for 25-30 minutes, or until the casserole is bubbling and the tater tots are golden and crispy.
- Serve: Let the casserole sit for a few minutes after removing it from the oven, then serve hot.
