For the Apple Filling:

  • 6 cups peeled and chopped apples (mix of Granny Smith and Honeycrisp)
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground nutmeg
  • 1/2 cup chopped pecans
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt

For the Cobbler Topping:

  • 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 1/2 cups packed brown sugar
  • 1 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt

For the Caramel Drizzle:

  • 1/4 cup store-bought caramel sauce
  • Extra chopped pecans for garnish

Instructions

  • Preheat and Prepare: Set your oven to 350°F (175°C). Lightly grease your baking dish with butter or cooking spray.
  • Create the Apple Mixture: In a large bowl, combine the chopped apples, granulated sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg, and salt. Toss until the apples are evenly coated. Fold in the chopped pecans.
  • Prepare the Topping: In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour and brown sugar. Pour in the melted butter and vanilla extract, stirring until you achieve a crumbly consistency.
  • Assemble the Cobbler: Spread the apple mixture evenly in your prepared baking dish. Sprinkle the crumbly topping uniformly over the apples.
  • Bake to Perfection: Place in the preheated oven and bake for 45-50 minutes, or until the topping is golden brown and the apple filling is bubbling around the edges.

  • Add Final Touches: Remove from the oven and drizzle with caramel sauce. Sprinkle additional chopped pecans on top if desired.
