Ingredients
Scale
- 1 pound smoked sausage, sliced into rounds
- 1 pound baby potatoes, halved
- 1 pound green beans, trimmed and cut into 2-inch pieces
- 1 large onion, diced
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 teaspoon paprika
- 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 3/4 cup chicken broth
- 1/2 cup heavy cream
- 1 1/2 cups sharp cheddar cheese, shredded
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 2 tablespoons butter
Instructions
- Preheat and Prep: Heat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Grease a 9×13 inch baking dish with butter or cooking spray.
- Season the Vegetables: In a large bowl, toss potatoes and green beans with olive oil, paprika, Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper until well coated.
- Brown the Sausage: Heat a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add sliced sausage and cook until lightly browned, about 5 minutes. Transfer to a paper towel-lined plate.
- Sauté Aromatics: In the same skillet, melt butter. Add onions and garlic, cooking until softened and fragrant, about 3-4 minutes.
- Combine and Layer: Mix the sausage, seasoned vegetables, and sautéed onion mixture in your prepared baking dish. Pour chicken broth and heavy cream over everything.
- Bake to Perfection: Cover with foil and bake for 35-40 minutes, or until potatoes are tender when pierced with a fork.
- Add the Cheese: Remove foil, sprinkle shredded cheese evenly over the top, and return to oven uncovered for 10-15 minutes until cheese is melted and golden.
- Serve: Let rest for 5-10 minutes before serving hot.
